The port

AV29 is located at the heart of Port d'Andratx, a natural harbour at the south-west of Mallorca in the Balearic islands, surrounded by pristine coves of turquoise waters such as Cala Llamp, Cala Moragues and Cala d'Egos.

This harbour town of about 3,000 inhabitants has gone from being an old shelter for fishermen to becoming one of the most vibrant and popular resorts on the island of Mallorca. As a famed centre for sailing and other water sports the town has come to promote a more exclusive residential tourism. It also has one of the best equipped marinas on the Islands, the Club de Vela, with 500 berths occupied by sports boats and recreational vessels of all sizes.

Nowadays the Puerto de Andratx is a cosmopolitan and lively place where many cultures meet and shopping, sea and night-life are combined.

Much of the activity is focused along the promenade and pier by the sea, where the old fish market offers the catch of the day as well as fresh prawns and shellfish. The numerous shops and restaurants and terraces facing the sea are part of the exclusive appeal of the Puerto.

The port also counts with some important and ancient buildings of great heritage and beauty. On one hand there are the old defensive towers, such as Sant Carles, sa Mola, or the number 9 Rodríguez Acosta Street, now a private dwelling. These are formidable structures which are testimony of the corsair threat that existed in the area from the Middle Ages until Modernity. On the other hand, religious architecture is represented by the church Nuestra Señora del Carmen, a sandstone chapel of simple elegance and style.

The Puerto de Andratx also has a very select hotel infrastructure, including as well some of the most renowned establishments for the cuisine of the island.

From Sa Mola you can admire a splendid sunset and the island of Dragonera.
